Web Client Factory

So what is new. I am compelled on studying Web Client Software Factory. I just downloaded and installed it in my PC at home. I am hoping to make real time application as soon as possible. 

But what was triggering my curiosity was that why need to use such softwares such as Patterns and Practices or Enterprise Library. Couldn't they just program it using basic C# codes.
