The new face of AVG

May 18, 2008

Grisoft’s AVG Free Antivirus is no longer just any other free downloadable antivirus (others means AVIRA, Comodo Beta Forever and Avast). Other utility comes only with either an antivirus or antispyware only, while others with no resident shield; but with this version, say good-bye to sypwares and antivirus. Off course with resident shield. What I also like with this one is the link scanner feature. So, say NONO to maliscious search engine results as this informs you of bad or red sites, and good or green site. Seems like the McAfee site advisor? Yes, seems like.

Smart Client Software Factory for Visual Studio 2008, Release

May 3, 2008

Just months ago, the Microsoft Web Client Software Factory was release. And now, Microsoft just release the Smart Client Software Factory.

This software factory provides proven solutions to common challenges found while building and operating composite smart client applications. It helps architects and developers build modular systems that can be built and deployed by independent teams. Applications built with the software factory use proven practices for operations, such as centralized exception logging.

The software factory contains a collection of reusable components and libraries, Visual Studio 2008 solution templates, wizards and extensions, How-to topics, automated tests, extensive architecture documentation, patterns, and a reference implementation. The software factory uses Windows Forms, Windows Presentation Foundation, Windows Communication Foundation, and the Enterprise Library 3.1 – May 2007 release. With this release, the Composite UI Application Block is included in the software factory.

.NET Versus Ruby on Rails

May 2, 2008

What a marketing strategy for Ruby On Rails (RoR) programming language. I hate to say this, but I think it is cool. I am a .NET developer, but I don’t feel the language very appealing anymore since most of the features are either borrowed from other technology, or they just throw in to thrash bin their previous release. What a headache right? Anyways, the advertisement not only compare RoR with .NET, but also with other technology like Java and Coldfusion.

If in case there is no video, just visit this site http://youtube.com/watch?v=z99EHyG2jQA . See other videos as well.

Netbeans and SVN Combined…

May 1, 2008

Here is a screenshot of Netbeans IDE combined with Subversion Feature. Cool, right? You just need to download SVN from http://tigris.org and Netbeans from http://netbeans.org . I don’t want to discuss more about this, since I am a newbie, but I believe it is for the readers to explore.
